Tributes and Celebrations
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Battle of Hogwarts, the defeat of Lord Voldemort, and the return of safety to the witches and wizards of the world.
As a tribute to those who fell during the Battle of Hogwarts, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry unveiled a new monument showcasing the brave wizards and witches who lost their lives during this historic war. Located near the entrance of the Great Hall, this monument stands as a reminder of all the brave sacrifices that the wizards and witches of Britain made on the night of May 2nd, 1998.
Among those in attendance were Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger, the latter two are married with two children, Rose and Hugo. Standing closely beside Potter stood his wife Ginevra Potter, known by friends and family as Ginny. According to sources, the foursome spent most of their evening chatting, laughing, and enjoying a butterbeer.
While the four friends spent most of their time catching up while their children ran around the banquet tables, it did not stop Harry Potter from catching up with old classmates like Draco Malfoy. Sources say they saw Potter and Malfoy exchange brief hellos, introducing each other to their respective partners Ginny and Astoria. Draco and Astoria’s son Scorpius clung closely to his mother’s side the entire night.
The atmosphere was lighter than expected. After ten years of grieving, there is finally a sense a pride in the air rather than sorrow. Of course, everyone was paying tribute to those that fell during the final battle and defeat of Voldemort, but shortly after came a time of celebration. A time to remember the accomplishments that were achieved and the changes they brought to the wizarding world for future generations.
Celebrations included many speeches from those who battled; along with food (especially sweets), dancing, music, and plenty of butterbeer.
This celebration and tribute to all those who battled is a reminder of the power of love, friendship and dedication. We hope the next generations of wizards can look past the violence of the battle and understand the difference and defeat that good wizards can have on the dark ones.
